I’m halfway through xp installation and i deleted the registry keys for mouse and keyboard i think by accident. How can i repair the registry at this point so i can finish the xp installation
Method 1
Does your Keyboard works enough to take you to the BIOS?
If yes, then, hold down F8 just after the post screen, before XP boots to splash screen. It will take you to StartUp action screen. In it select “Last known good config”.
Try in safe mode, if this doesn’t work in normal mode.
Method 2
1. Boot from XP CD.
(Here your mouse and keyboard will work as damaged drivers are not used by XP.)
2. Go to recovery console.
3. Type "SFC /scannow" and press enter.
4. All the system files will be checked by XP and replace lost files.
