I am using Microsoft 64 – bit Windows 7 Professional which is a Chinese version. I have installed Microsoft 32 – bit Office 2010 which is also a Chinese version. Also installed 64 – bit ‘IBM Client Access V6R1M0’ which is an English version. The problem happened when I have used the ‘Data transfer Excel add in’ feature for downloading the file through ‘dtf’ file. The problem was numeric value had changed to 40, 50, and 60 in Excel from the original value of 4, 5 and 6.

Please comment some inputs.

Instead of using the excel data transfer utility which is changing the format of the data, I will suggest that you use the copy and paste procedure which will retain the original formatting of the data.

In the document that you want to get the copy of the data from, you will do the following:

  • Select the data that you want to copy.
  • In the main menu under the home button, look for the 'copy' option and click on it.

And then you will need to go to the document in which you want to transfer the data to and do the following:

  • Right click in the first cell in that sheet,
  • And then you will need to choose the 'paste special' option so as to retain the original format of the data.
