I have a friend’s laptop, it is making this Noise as if it has short circuit. It cannot boot, windows don’t open so I can’t repair, the problem is there is some important data inside the computer hard drive, and it has some school project that has to be done within the next few days.

How do I retrieve the data?

I’m not sure if there is any possible solution to this since the computer doesn’t open or start at all. The only way I could think of to retrieve the file that is in the laptop’s hard drive is to physically open the laptop and then transfer its hard drive to another laptop then copy the file or files from there and make some necessary backup of all the files needed. The files contained in the hard drive are all intact and will not be damaged.

If you hear some noise coming from the machine, I think maybe it’s the laptop’s internal cooling fan that’s causing the noise. The only way to check if it’s really the one causing it is to open the bottom part of the machine to see the present status of the installed devices. But don’t attempt of opening it if you don’t have any experience on how to check it to avoid further damage.
