Cx_Freeze: Python error in main script

I have been using Frets on fire 1.2.451 on my windows XP for a long time now without problems.

Recently I tried installing the latest of this software which is Fret on Fire 1.2.512.

The installation process was quite easy(I enjoyed it) and I was actually able to load it I could even scroll through the list of songs and also make selections, but the problem occurred when I tried to play the song.

When I enter the song it gives an error saying, Cx_Freeze: Python error in main script.

“Cx_Freeze: Python error in main script

My previous version worked just fine so am sure my machine is ok. Is this a problem with my upgrade software?

Or is there a way to fix this error?

Looks like I have to go back to my previous old version.

Since you installedFrets of Fire version 1.2.512, you need to know that such newly release version got some bugs on it.

The previous version you had which is the Frets of Fire v1.2.451 or v1.1.324 are the best recommended versions you can use that are free of bugs. First thing you do is to uninstall or delete the latest version you installed. in doing that, you have to make sure to delete manually the Frets on Fire configuration file because it often remains in your computer even you already uninstalled the program.

Delete the fretsonfire.ini and the fretsonfire text document (Go toStart>Run>and type %appdata%/fretsonfire/) A

After deleting everything, download Frets of Fire recommended versions In case you already loaded all the songs, no need of deleting them. You just need to move them out of the folder before doing the above process.

Check if this helps.

Frets on Fire 1.2.451 is already an outdated version and I think the program got affected when you installed it before because of a system-wide modification on your computer which was done possibly by Windows Automatic Update or because of a previous software installation. The error is a general fault in the program which is similar when a component is corrupted.

Try reinstalling it first to see if installing a fresh copy of the same version will fix the problem. Go to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, select Frets on Fire then hit Remove to uninstall it. Wait for it to finish then restart your machine. After booting run the installer again then see if it runs normally.

If this doesn’t fix the problem, an upgrade would be a good solution since it is already an old version. Visit Frets on Fire 1.3.110 Download. It supports Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Make sure you download the correct version for your operating system. Among the featured bands in its bonus contents are: Tommy Inkila in Three Seconds’ Symphony, Rusty Jaz MotorFunk in American Radio, Scenery Channel in Fasten Me, M-Halo in When I’m Ready, 100ft Snowman, and hOSHI in hOSHI’s new Groove.
