This error is caused by the drivers. When Windows is updated, mostly drivers are updated by default. Some drivers are enlisted in optional update. Some drivers cause problem regarding "update"

You need to follow the steps below,

  • Download the latest drivers for Acer Crystal EYE Camera.
  • If you are using Windows 7 Then you can use "Acer Camera suyin v.5.2.5.3"
  • Acer Camera Suyin v.5.2.5.3 is made for Windows 7.
  • Install it and restart the system.
  • Now there will be no more issue.

There is another way to fix the error. You can fix it by registry.

  • Use registry cleaner to remove the invalid registry entries.
  • Fix other registry issues related to Acer  Crystal Eye Webcam.exe file
  • In this way you can save your time and risk to find and delete the files manually.

Keep in your mind that If you have not sufficient knowledge of registry then avoid to use this fix by your self because most of the information and configurations are stored in registry.

That’s probably a problem with the camera’s driver. My sister’s laptop is also equipped with the Crystal Eye webcam and I didn’t encounter any problem with the device. Since the problem started after you updated the software for the webcam, check that the version you installed is compatible with the device. To fix the problem, uninstall the webcam software then install the latest version from your laptop’s manufacturer website.

Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select your camera’s software or Crystal Eye among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer.

When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then go to Acer Drivers and Manuals if you are using an Acer laptop. Here, enter your laptop’s model number or serial number then click “FIND” to search for your product. When your product is located, click your laptop to go to the download page.

Select your correct operating system then download and install all available drivers for your laptop including the driver for the webcam.
