I am using a Dell Laptop, recently I downloaded an application, through which I can analyze the real temperature of CPU, while it is working, I am just curious to know whether the application is fake, or there is actually some mechanism through which we can actually check the real physical temperature of CPU?
CPU temperature analysis with my Dell Laptop
Such program isn’t fake at all. There are sensors inside your CPU that analyzes the heat. Those programs are clever ones to take out the data and show it to you.
Here’s how those programs work. There are DTSs inside each modern processor. DTS means Digital Thermal Sensor. DTS is included in each individual processors that gives the temperature reading of the processor. The value returned by DTS is stored in a special memory of CPU. The value is readable to the program you’re using, and showing you the temperature of your CPU.
There are many programs able to read the data. Some of the good ones are: Core Temp, HWMonitor etc.
