Hi Pro,

I am using Adobe Photoshop CS 6 in windows 8 operating system without any problem for past 3 months. But I am experiencing a problem, not able to open the .jpg file. When I try to open it throws me this error, and then the blank screen appears. I can able to open .jpg in other applications. How to fix this error? What might be the cause? Help please.

Could not import the clipboard because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered.

‘An unexpected end-of-file ‘ usually indicates a bad .jpg file. Often, file headers get smurfed and Photoshop is very critical of these headers. Try to open .jpg file in more liberal program, like ThumbsPlus, IrfanView, or PhotoImpact and then try to save the files in .jpg keeping in mind its low compression level. Or this may also happen that when you try to start your photoshop, your userid photoshop preference file is corrupted i.e. ‘Actions Palette.psp’.Try to set your Photoshop preferences.

You can also go for a disk clean which will help you to remove any corrupted files.

If you receive an error in Adobe Photoshop like this one and you cannot open the program or it doesn’t work properly, try resetting the preferences file. To do this, press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift then double-click the Adobe Photoshop icon to start the program. Select “Yes” when you are prompted to delete the current settings. This should then delete the existing Preferences file.

The file will be recreated the next time you start Adobe Photoshop. If this doesn’t work, uninstall and reinstall the program. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo then select Adobe Photoshop among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then install Adobe Photoshop back.
