Good Day to all,

Here is my problem, I have 2 computers. One with Windows 7 and the other with Windows 2003 server installed.

I have office 2007 installed on both the machines. Whenever I try to connect to my terminal server for any excel sheets I get the following error message.

Now how do I convert my retail license to volume license? Any ideas?

Hi, you can use this method to convert your Office retail to volume before installing.

First thing is you need the retail office version and it look like "en_office_professional_plus_2010_x86_515486.exe" this may differ in accordance with versions.

Run the installer when the yellow screen appears asking for the Product key, take the start menu then type %temp%, and you will see a folder named OWP

FC3.tmp this may differ, copy the folder into C: don’t close the installer when it’s not yet done copying.

Look inside for the folder named.

ProPlusr.ww for professional Plus & Visio.WW for Microsoft Project lastly PrjPror.ww for Project professional delete the folder and replace it with folders of select Edition by WZOR.

You can get those folder in this link: try also copying folder admin if you like Office Customization Tool.

So there you have it Volume edition of Office you may self extract it or make it an iso.

Hi.

Microsoft Office recognize if it is running on server. It runs on Server 2000, 2003 and NT4.0. Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 will not work on NT4.0. To work on server you will need an enterprise key and not retail. With retail key it will give exactly that error you got. To fix it you should remove this installation of Microsoft Office and install an suitable version with Volume License Key and run an custom install. To do an custom install run installation process and from setup select Office customization tool. Here you can select all parts that you need and configure Office for your server.
