Hey

I am using OS windows 7 64 bit. I have been trying to define a new coordinate system in AutoCAD map 3D 2012 but I fail at the last step of the definition. When I reach the last step, I see an error message pop up on my screen. The screenshot of that error message is attached below:

The error says:

Operation failed! Please contact your system administrator to make sure that you have write permission to folder

C:ProgramDataAutodeskGeospatial Coordinate Systems.

The folder name written in this error message is not the folder I am trying to locate. I don’t know why I am getting this error.

Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Kindest regards

Hello Nelson,
It seems that you need Administrator privileges to define the new coordinate system in Auto CAD map 3D. Try to run the program in the Admin mode.
To run Auto CAD Map 3D in Admin Mode, Right Click the Program Shortcut and Select Run As Administrator. Now try to define new coordinates for the program. It should be accepted now.

This problem usually raises when you do not have enough privileges in window. Even if your log in with administrative account is windows it pop up this problem. The only thing you need to do is

  • Right click on icon from where you run the applications
  • Click on option Run as Administrator

This should solve this problem

Thank you
