Of the two, Freemake Video Downloader is what you will probably use. All it needs is the URL of the video that you want to watch or download. FreeMake Video Downloader will prompt you as to what format you want to convert the video to after download. It then automatically downloads the video to your hard drive and converts it.
Personally I prefer to download the entire video and just do the conversion afterwards. This way, I have the video which I can later extract the audio from.

Hope these steps can help you:
1. Download and install ORBIT DOWNLOADER from this link
2. Download and install AIFF MP3 CONVERTER from this link
3. Open your favorite song from YouTube. As soon as it will start to play, a GET IT icon will pop-up and will prompt you to download and to save the file to your computer. As it will start to download, you may close the YouTube page.
4. When it is done, open the AIFF MP3 Converter from All Programs. Click Add Files button and open your downloaded file.
5. If you are having a hard time in finding the downloaded file. You may go back to the Orbit page. Right click on the downloaded file and left click on the Open Directory. You may now have the exact location of the downloaded file.
6. Under the Convert button, there are a lot of options you can choose and one of them is "to MP3" . So, you may click on it.
7. Click on Convert button.
8. When it is done, the location where the file will automatically be saved will appear and it will be shown as an MP3 file.
