Using Acrobat Reader I converted the PDF file to ‘txt’ file and opened in Excel but could not get it in the proper format. How can I get the data in proper format? Is there any software?

You are approaching a wrong extension. ‘.txt’ is the extension of Notepad.  Notepad file cannot be opened on MS office Excel because there is a compatibility issue so it does not support excel. The extension for Microsoft office Excel2007 is ‘.xlsx’.

Even you don’t need to install software. For your convenience let me add a URL below. Here you can convert a .pdf file extension into. xlsx free of cost easily. You just need to go to the link and explicitly follow the three steps mentioned on extreme left.

  • In First step you need to choose a .pdf file which you want to convert into Excel.
  • In second step write your correct email address. so that you can receive a converted file on your email ID.
  • in third step, simple click the link button 'Convert to Excel.

If you want to open the contents of the PDF file in Microsoft Office Excel, what you need to do is convert the PDF file into Microsoft Office Excel format instead of converting it to text. Though Microsoft Office Excel supports opening of text files, it is more appropriate to just convert the file into Microsoft Office Excel format.

Go to PDF to Excel to convert your PDF file to Microsoft Office Excel format. This tool doesn’t need any software installation to use. You only need a web browser and internet connection to convert the file. Just upload the file and convert it, that simple.

On the other hand, if you really want to convert your PDF file into text format, go to Convert your document to text. Just upload your PDF file and convert.
