Error code 51330 is indicating that you have not done your router settings properly. Misconfiguration of the involved devices may result in such type of error. The screen must be showing you a message as ‘Unable to connect’. It is the authentication process while connecting to the Internet through your Wii using a router is not leading to success. Possible reasons for such situation could be using the wrong password, different network settings on Wii and router or if traffic on the channel where router broadcasts messages is increased.

You may get an error with codes such as 51331, 51332, 52000, 52001, 52030, 52031, 52032, 52130, 52131, or 52230 due to router misconfiguration and network problems.

Any one from the following solutions can be given a try to solve the issue:

  1. Restart your router. Keep it at an appropriate place and away from objects that can cause interference.
  2. Confirm whether you are putting a correct security key.
  3. Check network settings on Wii and see that it matches with the router.
  4. Check firewall and mac filter settings of router.
  5. Try changing IP and DNS manually if automatic method is producing any confusions in the network.
  6. Usually, the router broadcasts on channel 6. Try changing it from router settings. It can solve the issue if traffic is the cause. Keep the channel as either 1 or 11.

In Nintendo Wii, if you cannot connect the console to the internet and you receive error code “51330”, the simplest explanation to the cause of the problem is incorrect password. The error code means the authentication process between the router and the console failed. The usual cause why the authentication fails is incorrect security key. In other words, wrong Wi-Fi password.

Since there is no way to connect the console to the router by means of a network cable, the only way you can connect to the internet through the router is Wi-Fi and this method requires a security key or the Wi-Fi password. To fix the problem, try changing the security type in the “Wii System Settings” to “WPA2 – PSK (AES)”.

After this, test your connection again. If the Wii console detected the incorrect security type during the initial setup, updating the setting may fix the problem. If this doesn’t work, make sure the password is correct as well as the security type used. Check your wireless router and take note of its current password and the security type used then enter these information to the Wii Settings.
