Hi! I am having troubles connecting my Galaxy S4 with my desktop computer. It will connect but it will only show that it is charging. I tried to ask some of my friends to help me out with this problem but still the same. Can you provide me what re the major causes of this issue? Can you give me instructions on how to properly connect it with my computer? Can you provide me alternative ways on how to do this also? Please give me information if there’s any software that can help me resolve this.

Thank you!

Actually it might be that the USB connection has been set only as a charging source and not as a data source, under settings. So, you can check this under the security option in settings.

(Hope you are using the computer cable that comes with the device itself.)

Also you can try downloading Kies and Samsung USB drivers.

If the issue still persists, there can be a problem in bios settings. So try this bios setting change,

  • BIOS >> advanced >> USB configuration >> legacy USB support >> BIOS setup only.

If all these strategies fail to solve the issue, try changing jumper PS2_USB_PWR1 from second and third pins to first and second pins.

Best regards!
