Hi,

Considering all other hardware aspects the same, like the processor @ 2.7 GHz etc.

What would give a better performance advantage?

1. Adding 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM – 2x4GB    vs      4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM – 2x2GB

or

2. Adding 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm    vs     128GB Solid State Drive

Both have a value of $180.

Please advise. Thanks, Jas.

Helloo Jas,

Well if you want a system with higher performance then always go with the faster CPU and higher RAM.

First of all I will advise you to go with the 8GB RAM if price difference is negligible. You will need RAM for games , softwares and many PhotoShop works you do on system. But if you are not getting graphics card included in it then will recommend go for 4GB RAM + Graphics card as it will provide an additional performance than  in vesting in extra 4GB ram.

Coming to hard disk , any time go for the higher storage capacity as like desktop one cant upgrade it to higher storage , so keep the hard disk capacity maximum i.e go for 500 GB.
