Configure Cisco Router with DSL Modem

Can you please help me on setting up my Cisco router properly? I need assistance on how to configure it with my DSL modem?  I tried to do it on my own ways but none works so far. I’m not sure if I configured it correctly so please send me step-by-step procedure on how to do it correctly. Thank you.

Configure Cisco Router with DSL Modem

Router installation can be done in 2 ways. This can be do it through manual installations or by using CD or disk software provided by Cisco router.

There are 4 settings that router can be set, either by using PPPOE, Dynamic, Static or through Mac Cloning.

The steps will below will guide you through the installation, that will make sure works for your DLS modem. What you need to know is what type of Internet protocol your DSL connection uses, contact your ISP and ask connection they use, among the list of protocol type.

For PPPOE Settings;

Open your Internet browser, type 192.168.1.1
Leave username "blank" and "admin" for password
On the Linksys router interface, select PPPOE
Enter the correct username and password for your ISP
Save the Settings and close the browser
Try your Internet if its going to work

For DHCP Settings;

Log-in on Router GUI
Blank for username and admin for password
Select Dynamic of Automatic configuration
Save the settings
Your Internet should work

For Static IP Address

On the router's log-in, under General tab
Select Static IP Address
Set the static IP Address, default gateway and DNS
Contact your ISP and ask for these information
Save the changes or settings
Internet should work
