Dear Madison

A configuration manager can manage clients when it is in different domain to that of the site system server. You just have to take care that if the site is in weaved or mixed mode configuration of management point should be done by FQDN which enables automatic approval for work. FQDN is fully qualified domain name or you can call it as absolute domain name, it specifically locates the exact point in the Domain Name System, specifying all the levels. You should also check that name resolution is working in between both the domains. These could be NetBIOS and FQDN. NetBIOS is Network Basic Input-Output System, providing services in relation with the session layer of the OSI.
