The configuration could not be loaded

Hi experts,

Today I used Ubuntu on my PC but it didn’t work well. I was utilizing my hard disk on a fresh system, so possibly the drivers were not completed or something. Well, while getting this error, I made a decision to create a latest user, and then I want to see if the error messages are there. However when I switched users as well as groups it provided me an error message saying: The configuration could not be loaded an unknown error occurred.

The configuration could not be loaded
An unknown error occurred.

I attempted going to terminal as well as I was typing “sudo adduser dummyuser” but it failed also! I need your help. Please help me.

Thanks a lot.

Hello Goldman,

To resolve the issue that you are getting, you will need to try adding yourself to the root group and see if that will help resolve the issue that you are getting. Also, you can try adding gksu in the Exec line of the files that are on the desktop which were installed by xubuntu-system-tools.

In the edgy updates, system-config-backends as well as gnome-system-tools have been altered so that they do not allow admin group members to launch tools without providing a password. The xubuntu-system-tools is from a separate source package than gnome-system-tools though they utilize upstream tarball x-s-t .

Regards,

Carl
