When I set up the target for group policy settings of the WSUS, a GPO (group policy object) which is connected to an active directory container is used. In client side, this can be done by the usage of GPO objects added to the groups of computers. But, how can I enable client-side targeting?

An OU names workstations will be created in the domain controller. Then a computer of the client known as the client will be moved into the OU. Launch the console of WSUS by logging into the server of this.

Select the computers. A window will be opened below the general tab. In this tab select the user group or registry settings on computer and select apply followed by ok.

By the means of a group, policy enables client-side targeting. Create a new policy name WSUS update policy after right clicking on the domain. Then by right clicking on this policy select exit.

Select computer configuration and administrative templates in the policy management editor later followed by windows component and windows update.

Click twice on the configure automatic updates and select enables for enabling the above policy. Then under the automatic updating of the options schedule the install according to our requirement and select apply followed by ok.

Then mention the name of the WSUS server and choose to apply followed by ok by double-clicking the Specify intranet Microsoft update service location.

Upon right clicking on the enable client-side targeting to choose to exit.

Then choose to enable on the page to enable the policy and give the name of OU created by you for target group name for this respective system and select apply and OU.
