Hi fellow members,

My name is Allen and I would just like to ask for assistance regarding my problem. I'm playing Borderlands (A 3D FPS game for Windows) then after playing for 15+ minutes or so, the computer suddenly turns off.

When I tried to open it again, it just won't turn back on. I was really terrified and didn't know what to do. I was thinking it was due to a lack of ventilation or something. Now I cant use my personal computer due to this problem. I have never encountered this kind of problem before.

Please give me advice on how to solve the problem and maybe some idea on what have happened because I don't want this to happen again in the future.

Thank you very much in advance.

~Allen

If your computer turns off without a warning here are some possibilities: It could be heat, hardware, a virus or an operating system issue. Try checking these steps: For heat issue first try checking your power supply fan as well as the CPU fan if its working, also check the heat sink if its properly connected.

In your hardware issue try removing all the expansion card that are not needed from your computer. Then try switching it on. For the virus check your anti virus if its up to date and try updating it. Then in operating system try to reboot your computer then press F8 to enter the CMOS setup wait for a few minutes if it shuts down. If not, try reinstalling your operating system.

Hi Allen Grant,

This may help to your problem.

Check if your computer will not turn on and is showing no sign at all of receiving power – no fans running and no lights on the computer case. This may be the power supply problem.

If your computer has turned on but nothing happens and you hear a beeping sound 2-3 times this is a RAM problem or Video card problem.

If your computer freeze/hangs this may be the heat problem. Your computer need to be clean. Remove the dust by using paint brush or compressed air.
