My computer is affected by virus, so I installed an Antivirus, but after installing the Antivirus, the computer became slow? Why?

When we install any Antivirus in our computer, it works all the time to protect the PC. That means it is running a task and using some more space and memory,  that's why most of the time the PC slows down. 

But I think it is not really a problem in latest PCs.  Make sure you don't install two Antivirus. Whenever a threat is detected on our computer, the Antivirus starts on it. If any program loads itself into the system and including Antivirus software, it should consume some memory of your computer every time.

If your computer does not have enough memory, it should be low in memory. So the Antivirus affects the performance of your computer. For this problem you can increases the system memory of your computer.

Hello Hare,

Which Antivirus did you install? If it is MacAfee, then it requires that your system has a considerably large memory space and hard disk space because it takes a lot of space in memory. Therefore the problem here could be that you are running on a low RAM capacity which the Antivirus exhausted, when you installed it.

You will therefore have to upgrade the memory space of you computer and the hard disk space too, to boost the speed of your computer or you will need to uninstall the Antivirus and get another one which is lighter and does not take a lot of RAM space, for instance AVG.

Hello,

If your PC is very slow after connecting the Antivirus to your CPU it is  because the Antivirus scans all the folders on your hard drive,  to check if they are affected.  That’s why your PC is slow & because it also occupies some amount of memory. Also check the memory available.
