Good Day Bennison,

Here’s your question;

  • Yesterday when the power went out and then came back, I was unable to start my PC. The cooling fan and the motherboard were working well. Then what is the problem?
  • I have similar problem occur when I accidentally kick my power adapter of my personal computer. My Central Processing Unit (CPU) fall and in instant, my computer won’t turn on. I observed and check for possible defects and I found out that fan is no longer spinning.
  • I then say that it’s the fan was the cause of it, possible some parts of my motherboard was also damaged but that’s not case for me.
  • In your query, a sudden power outage is the possible cause. Should you have surged protector, it might have prevented from happening.
  • Tips and steps need to do.
  • Replace cooling fan, this is very technical because you need to open the skeleton wide your computer.
  • If you are not so savvy, my advice is to look for an expert and let do it for you to prevent further damage.

Hope it helps.

Hi there,

  • I really don't understand your question. You are  unable to Start your PC but the fan and the board is working well?????
  • But here's my solution if this HITS your point.
  • Probably this problem occur upon shortage of supply coming to the unit.
  • Sometimes, incident like this can actually corrupt a program or can cause the hardware to not functioning well.
  • The first thing you need to do is to CHECK.
  • Check all the power cord, from tip to bottom in the power supply up to the main board itself.
  • Check also the main VGA cable, maybe it is unplug or not connected well and check your video card if there's any.
  • You can check your hardware also by transferring it one by one. So that you can trace what the problem consist of.
  • Try to install another power supply, maybe your supply is damage because of a sudden shutdown of the unit.
  • Lastly, you can try this tip in all basic problem: in blue screen defect, beeping sound and no screen while the board is running.
  • UNPLUG all the hardware components of the CPU and REINSTALL it back again.
  • Includes: ALL POWER CORD ATTACH, RAM, GRAPHIC/VIDEO CARD AND ITS CORD, and HARD DISK.
  • This will REFRESH all the drivers needed to run the system smoothly upon restarting.
  • Be sure to clean every tip of the hardware but be careful in cleaning it. Use a brush and eraser for the cleaning of the TIP of the RAM and GRAPHIC CARD.
  • If the problem still persist.
  • TRY to REFORMAT it's OS, maybe its corrupted.

I hope this will help you a lot.
