Hi,

I am using Microsoft Office 2010 32bit bit I am having the following error message when I double click the icon to open my application. I tried myself to resolve the following issue but it would be better to consult with expert’s advice. Any help would be great.

Thanks for everything.

Hello Katie

I am familiar with this error and I might be able to help you fix it. Here is what you need to do.

Open My Computer. Go to C:Documents and SettingsUsernameApplication DataRoamingMicrosoftForms , where username is the username that you use to login.

In case you do not see the folder AppData you must enable Hidden Files and Folders. You can do that by going to My Computer, click on Organize and select Folder and search options. Go to View tab, and check the box that says Show Hidden files, folders and drives. I have attached a picture in order for you to get this done.

Once in the Forms folder, rename these two files, so they end in .old

ComctlLib.exd
MSComctlLib.exd

Now open up Microsoft Office and you will see that the error is gone.

I hope this information will fix your problem.
