What are the benefits of Symbian devices when compared to J2ME and BREW devices? What is thread and ActiveX objects? Why do we need ActiveX objects?

The Symbian Operating system is having number of advantages over the Brew devices.
One of the major advantage is hardware access with symbian device is easy as compare to Brew device.
Symbian Operating system is most popular today in the Market in which 3rd Party applications are allowed it offers rich format UI than Brew devices.
The applications developed with J2me devices are most powerful and efficient. the brew os needs digital signature for their applications which is not required in the j2 me devices.
The symbian is for GSM handsets and brew is for CDMA handsets.j2me applications are run on JVM(java virtual machine)
