Will it look so bulky to use the compact keyboard with tablet in public and will it require any software compatibility aside from Bluetooth feature?

Well for using a compact keyboard with tablet/ipad etc you will need a proper flat surface to place the keyboard on that. After connecting the keyboard to your tablet, your tablet would just look like a laptop. It will not look that much bulky by comparing it with a laptop. But on the other hand the basic concept of it being without keyboard and taking less space would be removed. It would just look like a laptop, thats all

Anyhow, you should look for your own ease always. If you feel like to connect keyboard with your tablet would make you do your work easily then obviously you should go for it. It is removable so when you don’t feel it necessary to be connected so you can disconnect it.

About the compatibility thing, it depends from keyboard to keyboard. Some compact keyboards would be supported with one tablet and some not, so it depends what make of the keyboard you are having and to which tablet you are connecting it.
