So my new HTC ONE S sees some outer damage as its back cover coating is scraped out. I have not even used the device more than a month. Do I owe a replacement from HTC?

Hi there! The damage on your phone falls under the non-warranty damage clause. It is stated that issues that is not related to functional failure such are dirt or smudge marks, scratched paint, fracture on the body of the phone, damage caused by liquid spilled over the phone and other forms of damage that is physical and due to personal negligence are not covered. Like most warranty conditions, HTC’s limited warranty only applies to the hardware components of the phone as supplied originally and it doesn’t cover software or other equipment. So I guess, HTC will not replace your HTC ONE S.
