Clarification on Abbyy 6 (OCR Software)

I am using optical character recognition (OCR) software named Abbyy 6 that helps me to convert paper documents and image files into editable text documents, Recently I was trying to convert french text which was having accent characters, but the accents were not getting converted, instead it was coming as character without accents, like that of English. Do I need to set any language for that or is there any additional plugin for languages. Please help or suggest me an alternative OCR software, which can do this.

Hello Mike,
 
To use any language with special characters you will need to add a language pack to your Abbyy software.
 
Since almost every OCR software requires the installation of additional language pack, just like ABBYY, I don't see the point in changing the OCR software you are satisfied with. 
 
Language packs can easily be found on ABBYY's web page (https://filehippo.com/download_abbyy_finereader_12_professional/).
