Citrix Presentation Server Installation Error

Hi there,

I am trying to install Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 on my server, running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 release 2, with updated Windows / patches / upgrades.   It has a 4 GB RAM and Symantec Endpoint solution implemented.

When the installation proceeds, it pop-ups an error and the installer quits.

The error states:

Citrix error

Installer Information

Cannot Load XPC ConfigSupport.dll

I even did clean installation two times, just to get an idea of the cause of the problem but the problem recurs. The Installation CD is okay, as it has been used during a successful installation before.

I can’t figure out the actual cause of  the error, which is preventing me from performing some important tasks due to absence of this server in our official network.

Kindly suggest something in this regard.

Thanks.

Citrix Presentation Server Installation Error

Dear Timothy,

During installation of Citrix Presentation Server 4.0, the error message pops up:

“Error: Cannot load XPConfigSupport.dll”

This indicates that there are different versions of java installed on the server. You should uninstall all except the latest version.  Recall that during installation a check is done of Java versions. If multiple versions are found, a dialog box informs you that a newer version of java is available for installation and  prompts you for a decision on whether you want to use the old version.  Please select “Yes” if you want to use the old version of java.

Following this, your Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 will be successfully installed on your server and your problem will be resolved.

Cheers,

Benth
