Hi,

I've been using Cisco AnyConnect software for a while now, but recently I am always encountering an error message every time I try to connect to VPN.

However, the internet connection is working quite smoothly as you may take a look at the following pasted screen-shots.

Cisco AnyConnect software-The VPN client driver has encountered an error.

Error:

The VPN client driver has encountered an error.

Please help me with this.

Thanks!

Hello,

This problem can be fixed. To solve this, check that Routing and Remote Access Service is disabled before you star AnyConnect app. If this does not fix this matter, then go through these steps:

Method 1:

i) Go to the command prompt.

ii) Run net stop CryptSvc.

iii) Run esentutl /p %systemroot%System32catroot2{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EEE}catdb.

iv) Select OK to repair.

v) Exit command prompt.

vi) Restart.

Method 2:

i) Go to the command prompt.

ii) Run net stop CryptSvc.

iii) Rename directory %WINDIR%system32catroot2 to catroot2_old.

iv) Exit command prompt.

v) Restart.

Method 3

Open Run Window. Type “appwiz.cpl” and press enter. This will open the Add or Remove Programs Window. Locate and uninstall the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client in the Add or Remove Programs window.

Then go to “C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication Data” Delete “Cisco” folder. Then go to “C:Documents and Settings “username” Local Settings Application Data” Delete “Cisco” folder. Check for any other “Cisco” files and/or folders in the system. Then reinstall the application. Restart the program. The problem will be solved.

Hope your problem gets solved. Good Luck.

Hello Romas,

You will need to do the following to repair the issue that you are getting:

That issue could be due to a Cisco bug ID CSCsm54689. In order to resolve it, you will need to ensure that the Routing as well as Remote Access Service has been disabled before you start Any Connect. In the event that fails to resolve the issue, you will need to complete the following steps:

  • First, you will need to open a command prompt as an Administrator on the PC.

  • And then run net stop CryptSvc.

  • After that you will need to run esentutl /p %systemroot%System32catroot2{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}catdb.

  • When prompted, you will need to select OK to attempt the repair.

  • And then close the command prompt.

  • Reboot the computer after that.

Regards,

Carl

Hi Romasfleeman

If you have been using Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client successfully before, this is probably caused by Microsoft Windows Updates. It is possible that Microsoft Windows Update has recently updated the file certclass.inf and the following error appears in “C:WINDOWSsetupapi.log”: Also check out this Techyv post to get more idea to resolve this issue.
