Cinema 4d MAC OSX bug application error

Cinema 4D program gives me an 'application error', a minute after it starts. I uninstalled and reinstalled it but the same problem continues. What should I do?

I've looked at the error log and I feel it's crashing, because of some app having been installed that does not like my OS.

Dear Advisory

“Application Error” display after Cinema 4D starts showing that your system not meet the system requirements that are essential for running Cinema 4D in Mac OS X. These are minimum system and operating system requirements. You can check system requirements and complete missing things for proper functioning of this software.

  • Mac OS X 10.5.8 or higher
  • RAM 1024 MB minimum and 2048 recommended
  • 2.5 GB of free disk space
  • Processor = Intel CoreSolo
  • 3D graphics card with ATI or nVidia chipset
  • Upgraded Drivers for all Hardware

Hope you understand.

Hi,

You should try looking at your error log. If you haven't then go check your error log, it should tell you exactly what the error is and what is the cause of the crash. It maybe crashing because of some other applications that are installed on your computer do not love your OS. Mac OS X error log is quite informative unlike windows error log. And it will help you resolve your problem. I hope you find the solution.

Hello,

Just like love, software needs to be compatible with your OS compatibility e.g. screen resolutions, colours etc.

What you need to do it is just to make your OS compatible with software compatibility.

Please follow following steps –

1. Open your Cinema 4D compatibility (by clicking right button of mouse, go to properties, then compatibility option – 3rd main option and see the settings to know which options are ticked and which are not).

2. Now you need to exactly make your OS compatible with it. Therefore click on desktop icon OS graphics (like Intel), click on option graphic properties which will open a separate window.

3. Now click on Display services and adjust your display settings according to Cinema 4D.

Your system may show weird colours. The colour quality will change to 8 bit when you double click your Cinema 4D so directly go on colour quality drop down menu and change back to 32 bit but don’t press ok until Cinema 4D is not over.

To better understand the process, please see this video –

Hope for the best!

Hi,

For this particularly problem we can try one easy debug step to see if there is a problem with the video drivers that you are using.

At first, when you start up Cinema 4D, please press and hold down the SHIFT key. This step will disable the OpenGL Mode.

Now please restart the Cinema4D and see how will work now for you.

Good luck,

Aabel
