I am concern with the temperature of my CPU/s, is there a device or software that I can add to my system for me to identify CPU temperature? I know that if the CPU is hot, it will slow everything down even the applications.

So how do I check CPU temperature and how to make my cpu cool?

Good question. Every CPU has a bearable maximum temperature, if it goes beyond that you will encounter problems with your CPU.

A. You can always check CPU and internal parts temperature through the Motherboard's software or BIOS in some.

B. You can also download 3rd party software, I suggest just search for a good one, either trial or paid. Its up to you.

C. Apply thermal paste or pad.

I can suggest you try using ceramic base thermal paste. This you will apply between the heatsink and CPU surface. See image below. Make sure your box is also built with fans air intake and exhaust to make sure proper ventilation is achieved.

**To avoid CPU overheating, use thermal paste or thermal materials for your PC build and have a cooler room temperature.

Dear Ucmahound,

Base on your problem, your computer is suffering from too much hotness and you want to find a device or software to check your computer temperature. Well, that was a little bit impossible, actually, hotness came from the motherboard because most of the transaction is done in the motherboard. There is one way to avoid this and that is to avail a cooling fan or if you have already a good working cooling fan, put a air conditioner or an electric fan that could be able to less the hotness of your computer. Hope this will help from the problem that you are facing about your computer. .

Yes, it is true. When the processor is hot and the temperature is climbing near the maximum level, you will notice a slight degrade in the performance of the computer. But don’t worry. It is the job of the CPU cooling fan to maintain the temperature level not to reach the ceiling. The speed of the CPU cooling fan is controlled in the BIOS.

It controls how fast or how slow the CPU cooling fan should operate depending on the current temperature reading. Though the temperature is being monitored by the BIOS, the reading is not visible to the user via Microsoft Windows. To learn of the current temperature readings of your processor as well as the readings of your hard drive, RAM, graphics adapter, motherboard, and fan controllers, try using Open Hardware Monitor.

It is a free open-source application that monitors temperature sensors, voltages, fan speeds, load, and clock speeds of a computer. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 both 32-bit and 64-bit including any x86-based Linux operating systems. The application requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher. To download the latest .NET, visit Microsoft .NET Home.
