In Ms Visio you can change default font type by going to the master shape option. All the default option are defined there, until or unless you don’t change the value there, it will not change.

Thus go to master shape change the value store in their stencils. You need to edit the master shape. When you are able to edit stencil then your problem will be resolved. In order to stop automatic tagging you can go to process engineering within the menu tab and disable the diagram numbering.

Hope this will stop automatic tagging from your drawing and you can tag as you want.

Hello Sarma,

Here are the steps that will help you change the default font in Visio:

  • First, you will need to start Visio.
  • And then you will go to the Tools menu and then click Options.
  • After that click the Advanced tab.
  • Go to User settings and then  click to select the Put all settings in Windows registry check box, and then click OK.
  • Quit Visio after that, and the start it and then quit it again.
  • That will enable Visio to write its settings to the Windows registry.
  • And then you will quit all Windows programs.
  • And then click Start, and then click Run.
  • After that go to the Open box and then type regedit, and then click OK.
  • After that go to the left pane of Registry Editor and find  and open the following registry key (folder): HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareVisioVisio 2000Application
  • And then go to the right pane and click to select the DefaultFontName entry.
  • Next you will need to go to Edit menu and click Modify.
  • And then go to the Edit String dialog box and type a TrueType font name in the Value data box, and then click OK. For instance, type Georgia, Tahoma, or Times New Roman.
  • Go to the Registry menu and click Exit.

Regards,

Carl
