I have installed CCleaner 3.14.1616 on Windows XP ASUS laptop. I used this when I feel that there is something wrong with my computer. It was working well since the last time I used it.

But today, I got this error when I tried to run it. I have run the Chkdsk, but it didn’t fix it. Is there any other way to resolve this?

CCleaner.exe – Corrupt File

The file or directory C:DOCUME~1login.KHAPPLIC~1MozillaFirefoxProfilesi2rk1sju.defaultsearchplugins is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.

Hi Angel,

If you have run the chkdsk utility and have not resolved the problem, you can try to repair it by going to Start > Run > Add/Remove Programs > Look for the application > Repair > Restart the Computer. Another option you can try to repair is to run system file checker. It will try to scan and fix any corrupted system files on your computer.

To do the scan, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Right click on the Command Prompt > Choose Run as Administrator on the Security Tab > Click on Command Prompt > Type SFC /Scannow.If after repair, you are still unable to use it, you can try to completely removing it by going to Start > Run > Add/Remove Programs > Look for the application > Remove > Restart the Computer. You can then try to reinstall it again and see if that will help.
