Catalyst Control Center Notification error

Hi

I keep getting this message box when I start up my computer:

Catalyst Control Center Notification

The features in the ATI Catalystâ„¢ Control Center View do not support the current active graphic processor.

To launch the Advanced View, click on the Advanced View button. Otherwise, click Exit to close this dialog.

I got a new driver for my Radeon 9600 video card, and I cant get it to work with or enable the ATI on my system.

Could be the new drivers be the problem?

Help at this point would be much appreciated.

Hello John329.

As a general rule for graphics cards driver installation, you have to uninstall the old drivers before installing the new drivers.  Installing new drivers over old ones brings up a lot of problems in performance and operation.  If you downloaded the complete ATI Catalyst installation package, it would include the ATI Catalyst Install Manager that would automatically detect and prompt you to uninstall old catalyst drivers then reboot before proceeding with the installation of the new drivers.

So here's what you should do:

1.  Get the latest ATI Catalyst (now called AMD Vision) driver package and install that.

2.  When prompted to uninstall the old drivers, confirm uninstallation.

3.  Install the new drivers.
