I have a card reader that is meant for internal connection in a desktop, when i plug it into the motherboard I get a message that the high speed device should be connected to the right port for USB 3.0. How can I know if a machine has 3.0 support and is there like a PCI usb that comes with 3.0 support?

First of all a USB 3.0 device runs well in USB 2.0 but with data transaction speed just as low as half. The USB 3.0 drives on your PC can be identified by a blue port, in place of common black/ white port of 2.0. You also have to load the USB 3.0 driver software running from device manager.
