Hi,

I have the Ebay app on my iPad but when I list an item, I move all the way to the last step and then I get a message that calls itself a listing error. Is there something wrong that I am doing?

Error message:

Listing Error

Funds from our sales will be unavailable and show as pending in your PayPal account for a period of time (T21916260)

Hello!

This is not a error message , this is a warning from eBay. You can call it a reminder. This tell you that as a new seller with 0 feedback your funds are not available in this moment. You can read more on the official site and of course before pressing the accept button read all the terms and conditions.

Basically, its a hold that ebay places on money you received. The hold can be up to 21 days, but In my experience it is usually released a day or two after the item is delivered. You can speed the process up significantly by making sure to enter your tracking numbers, and keeping a close eye on delivery.

Another version of this message from eBay reads:

Warning: Funds from your sales will be unavailable and show as pending in your PayPal account for a period of time. Learn more: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?UserPolicyMessaging. Before you can list this item we need some additional information to create a seller’s account.

This message is a warning from eBay when you try to list an item and this will prevent you from listing or revising your entry successfully. The reason for this is that the policy of eBay is to delay funds for a specific period of time for sellers with limited selling history.

If you think you are receiving this message in error and that you don’t have limited selling history, you need to contact eBay directly for an explanation.

This problem happens when the money you receive from the buyer is there but you wouldn’t be able to use it for a certain amount of days or maybe until the buyer leaves a positive feedback indicating that all is well with the purchase. Payments from buyers will be available immediately to sellers who meet the following:

  • It’s past ninety (90) days since your first successful sale
  • You have made over twenty five (25) sales transactions
  • You have more than $250 in total sales
