Cant install Microsoft PowerPoint for “error 1603”

Hi friends,

I am new here. Recently I bought a new Microsoft Office CD and tried to install Microsoft PowerPoint.

I faced some problems while installing Microsoft Office.

I went to start > programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft PowerPoint and it failed to open the program.

I got an information in a dialog box and it was suggesting to insert Microsoft Office disc into the CD-ROM.

I inserted the disc again and found this problem:

Error 1603 Error_Install_Failure

Now I am little bit confused about this problem.

Is it the disc problem or is it another issue?

Need help in solving this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Friend,

I think it is a problem with your Windows Operating System.

You should install a new Windows Operating System.

You should also install an updated version of Microsoft Office XP.

I think that software has many missing files.

So you should obtain full version Microsoft Office XP software.

Before installing Microsoft Office XP, you must setup and install your Windows XP.

Hi KELLY Mchone,

I have given a solution that would be helpful for you.

  • Go to start menu and click on the control panel.
  • Then click on the Add or Remove program.
  • Select the Microsoft PowerPoint and click on the Uninstall/Changes option from the upper bar of the window and select repair.
  • If the problem will not fix then you have to download error 1603 repair tools.
  • After download the tools install it manually and launch it.
  • Then you have to scan and repair the found errors.

Hopefully it will work for this issue.
