Hi,

I tried to change graphic options in Ubuntu but i got below error message.

Error:

Appearance Preferences

Searching for available drivers….

Extra: Provides more authentically pleasing set

of effects. Requires faster graphics card.

This "Searching for drivers" dialog box getting stuck there. Is this a hardware problem with my desktop? Because when i tried to same thing in my laptop i didn't had any trouble of doing it.

But in my desktop i can't do this changes.

Ubuntu has its built in function for changing its graphics. If it is not working or you cannot change graphics with it then may be some software can help you to change graphics in Ubuntu. Here is one that can help to solve this matter.

Go https://sourceforge.net/projects/xorg-edit/, and download Download xorg-edit.

Run this software with this code: CD ~/Desktop>sudo dpkg -I xorg-edit*.deb.

Install this package. It will want your password. Finish full installation progress and then.

Use this path System > Administration > XServer-Xorg and start changing graphics. This is just an option. You can also solve it with many different ways.
