Hi, yesterday when I was trying to print a page in my Canon PRINTER MP830 ALL-IN-ONE, it stops printing in the middle of the page and the power was off. When I switched the machine on, it showed Error Code 6500. It wouldn’t allow me to do anything. Do you have any idea how to fix it? Please let me know.

Hi Ms. Stone,

I understand you are having difficulties with your Canon printerMP830 ALL-IN-ONE.

Error 6500 means that the logic board is faulty and is considered as a Service error SOS.

Before having it replaced, I would suggest doing a power down reset (unplug everything for about 15-30 minutes). If it still doesn't work, attempt a second level reset when you get the same error. (Unplug the power cord while the printer is on) (please be careful and please do this as a last resort)

If all the steps above did not work, please contact the manufacturer to have it replaced.

I hope I was able to help,

Sincerely,

Paul Pinalb

Unfortunately I have to inform you that the only solution is to replace it. This problem can not be fixed. I had the same problem tried everything. I closed it for many hours and again the same problem. I took it to the service and told me that the motherboard has a problem and it cannot be fixed.

In Canon PIXMA MP530 printer, error code “6500” points the problem to the logic board. It means the PCI bus error is detected by the ASIC. So, basically, according to the Canon service manual, error code “6500” means the logic board is in error and has to be replaced. Anyway, you can try resetting the printer and see if it helps.

First, open the printer’s front cover then open and close the print head lock lever but don’t remove the print head. Check that all ink tanks are seated properly. Make sure all packing materials have been removed. Make sure no paper is jammed in the printer. Disconnect the printer cable from the printer then close the front cover and then turn off the printer.

Unplug the printer from the power for about five minutes then plug it back in. Turn on the printer then see if it works.
