I have a Canon Pixma MX 850 printer and it keeps showing an error stating that “Inner cover is open. Close cover and press OK”. I repeatedly close the cover but the error continuously pops us. I am using a MAC PC. I tried to reinstall the driver but no luck! Please help.

Canon Pixma MX 850 Inner Cover is Open

Hi,

The Canon Pixma M – series printers have an inner cover in the printer. This is usually situated near the portion where the paper comes out. This is to ensure safety that the paper does not get folded and damaged. It is present in all the m-series printers. This inner cover is not available in other brands of printers.

When you replace the ink cartridges or when you have to add paper you have to open this inner cover. Then you may forget to close it back. This is the cause of your problem. All you have to do is close it back. Without closing it you cannot print. See the picture below:

The above picture shows the inner cover. You just have to close it and then you can print.
