Hello, I am using a Canon Pixma iP1600 printer. I was having problems with my printer yesterday when I was giving it a command to print. A message popped up with an error code: error 5600. I tried to fix it by unplugging and replugging but the error message persisted. What seems to be the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks.

Hello Gerardo,

Have you already used your printer? Error 5600 is a Hardware error. You may try Uninstalling your printer driver. Open "Start" and  go to "Control Panel". Under "Add/ Remove Program", select Canon Pixma iP1600 then click Remove. Download IP tool for software resetting and Canon Printer Driver for reinstalling. Open your printer cover and try to clean your printer absorber located inside the printer just where the cartridge lies. Install your printer driver and then the IP Tool. Reconnect your printer USB to the port and install your printer. Run the IP tool and reset EEPROM using the tool. Finally, test your printer. If the procedures failed, then contact your Service Center for further problem diagnosis.

Hope this information would be useful.
