Hi,

I have some sort of problems in my Canon MX850 printer. During the time of printing, a part of the paper is getting stuck with the printer which is not being released by the printer.

Then it is showing Error Code 5100.

The customer care failed to give me any solution.

Do you have any idea about the solution of this problem?

Thanks.

Hi Ms. Slayton,

I understand you are having difficulty with your Canon MX850 Printer.

In lieu of your issue re: Error Code 5100, the following steps that i will be listing below will require a moment of thought. Doing the TS steps might void your warranty if it still applies.

You would need to clean the decoder strip inside the printer -VERY GENTLY- to avoid erasing the lines there. (if you accidentally remove the lines you would have no choice but to replace it)

You would also need to get to the white sliding mechanism inside (you will need to remove the cover and etc) so you could apply some lubrication to it while making sure that the black part doesn't get some.

If you managed to do so correctly the printing process should become "fluid" again.

I hope I was able to help!

Sincerely,

Paul Pinalb
