This is an error message that is received when a problem occur for Apple-created Windows software. The number for that error message is 1606. One reason why the error might occur is if there one of the following registry key has an incorrect setting.

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerUser Shell Folders
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerUser Shell Folders

In order to fix the issue you will have to locate the faulty registry. You can do that by clicking on Start, the clicking on Run,  and then typing Regedit.exe and OK You will have to follow the absolute path to locate one of the registry. Once the registry has been located, you will have to go to the left pane and do a right click on the folder to delete the value. Once the value has been deleted you will have to restart your computer.
