Please help me to run Steam on my Windows 7 PC.

I am getting this error when I am trying to run it.

How can I solve this error?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

This could be a Compatibility Mode problem.

The windows compatibility mode may have caused this error, you may try disabling Compatibility Mode for stream.exe.

Here's how:

1. Exit Steam.

2. Right-click your Steam shortcut and select Properties.

3. Select the compatibility tab.

4. Uncheck Run this program in compatibility mode and click OK.

5. Restart Steam.

Hope it helps.

Hello there,

There might be a chance that your installation didn't go properly. Try the compatibility thing suggested in the above solution.

However, this an internal runtime error. Some component is not working. If you are completely sure that the installation was smooth and without any anomalies than I would suggest getting a different installer file as it may be incomplete to begin with.

Please download steam again and then install it.

The error will not appear after that.
