To install Assassin's Creed, follow the steps below:

1. Insert the installation disk on your DVD-ROM. It will automatically launch.

2. Select the Run autorun.exe to start the Assassin's Creed installation.

3. You will be asked to allow the installation depending on your Operating System. If this happens, click Yes on the UAC.

4. Choose your preferred language and then click Next. You will be directed to the Welcome Screen, just click on Next to continue.

5. Agree with the License Agreement.

6. Select the destination folder where you want to save your Assassin's Creed installation. By default, it will be stored in the Program Files under Drive C:. Just click Change > Browse if you want to change its location.

7. Click Install. Assassin's Creed will now start copying the files required to make it run. This will usually take 10 minutes to finish. But still depends on the speed of your computer. You have to make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements to run the game without problems.

8. Click OK to finish the hardware detection program. And then hit Finish to close the installation.

9. You can now start playing the game.

If you cannot install Assassin’s Creed 2 on your computer then there is probably something wrong with your system or your operating system is not supported by the game.

The PC version of the game is actually smaller compared to the Xbox version. Its Xbox version is around 5.19 GB while the PC version is only around 4.18 GB which is only around the size of a typical DVD disc. For the game’s system requirements, you may surely encounter a problem if you happen to be using Microsoft Windows 7 or Microsoft Windows 8 because Assassin’s Creed 2 only supports Windows XP and Windows Vista.

So if you are using a much higher operating system, I think it would be best to shift to a different game unless you are willing to downgrade your operating system to any of the supported platforms.

This game is not intended for slower or mid-speed computers because it requires a processor with at least 2.6GHz dual core speed or faster.

And you also need to have at least around 2 GB RAM and higher if you wish to play it. You might also need a video card that has a minimum 256 MB video RAM.
