Hi TechyV buddies!

I have encountered an error message in opening a PowerPoint file.

I am using office 2010.

And I want to solve this error message. The message is this:

“C:Program Files (x86)MicrosoftOffice14ppcore.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.

Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact system administrator or the software vendor for support.”

Can anyone tell me any solution to this?

Thank you!

Hello Minty,

You will need to check you PowerPoint application and see if it is running in compatibility mode.

And then do the following:

  • On your computer navigate to c:Program Files(x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice 14
  • After that you will need to right click on 'PowerPoint',
  • Next you will go to properties.
  • Locate the compatibility tab and then check if there is a check for ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’.
  • In case the tab is checked, you will need to uncheck it and then verify the status of PowerPoint.
  • It should work well after you have made the above changes.

Regards,

Carl

Hello,

The problem you are encountering can be solved by the following method.

If you have the Installation Compact Disk and the Product key of Office 2010 then you can run the ‘Fix it’ tool. Fix it tool removes all the components of Office 2010 from the computer. Once you have completed the operation, re-install Office 2010 and check if the problem is resolved or not.

I hope this information proves helpful to you.
