Hey guys!

I can’t open files in my windows. I get this error message “Windows even not access to the specified device, path, or file? You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item” why it comes? I can’t even open my programs like burning software. As I am the administrator of this computer I should have full access to all the programs. But I can’t even setup new antivirus. But I did not lock any option or change any settings of my windows. Help me guys!

Try these steps:

  1. First, check of you have the proper permissions for the file or folder. Look first for the folder where you're getting that error. Right click on it and select Properties. Go to the Security tab. Your name should be under Group or User names, click on Edit to change the permissions.
  2. Make sure that the path is correctly pointing to the file/folder that you need.
  3. Check if the file has somehow been deleted or removed, or even changed to a different location.
  4. Delete the shortcut that you're using and recreate a new one.
  5. In some cases, Windows block a particular file. To check that, go to Properties of the file by right-clicking it, go to the General tab and choose Unblock if it is available.
  6. It could also be possible that your antivirus software may be blocking access to the file. For more info on how to do that, you can go to the help site of your antivirus.

Hope that helps!

Hi,

It seems you have a malware activity in your PC, First analyze what happening in your PC, Just go to task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del) then click on processes tab and check the processes running on your PC.

If some processes with not likely names like "asd234ad23sd" and all just end the process.

Now go to run either through start or by pressing winkey + r, just type %temp% and then delete all the files in it, Usually most of the viruses are spread through the temp folder.

To find help related to that visit http://sanjayrnath.blogspot.in/2010/02/shortcut-to-open-temp-folder.html

You will find details regarding that in it.

There are more advance works to control the malware activity go to:-

Now you are done with some of them now install a good antivirus, i personally recommend using kaspersky internet security, download a trial version and scan your PC completely.

If you are all done with the above steps do a system restart and you are done. You can access your files.

Hope that solves.
