I am struggling too much with my pc, please help me. I am running on Windows XP on my laptop.

Recently it was attacked by serious virus. But I was successful to get rid of all the virus by ESET NOD32 antivirus. I am not having any kind of problem with the programs but I can’t open any of the hard drive partition by double clicking on the drive icon. If I click on the drive icon then only I can see an open with option shown below.

I have already checked the whole computer again with the anti virus but not found any virus.

Please help me to get it fixed.

Hey

Seeing as you have been attacked by a virus, something must have gone wrong with your file system, what I can advise for you is to perform Error-checking on your hard drives and try to fix them with it. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Go to your hard drives in My Computer, right-click and choose Properties.
  2. In the properties window, go to Tools tab.
  3. In the Tools tab in the error checking panel and click Check now…,a window will appear.
  4. In the window check the two options and click Start, if this is your C: drive then you may be prompted to restart your computer, do so.
  5. Wait for the error checking to finish.
  6. Do it with all of your drives and/or partition

Hope that helps

  • Reinstall the windows xp. After the installation of windows
  • open my computer.
  • click on tools and click on folder option
  • click on view option
  • in advance settings select the show hidden files and folders option
  • also uncheck the next two boxes down under the show hidden files and folders option
  • after the selection click on ok button.
  • now open the my computer and open the drive through explorer.
  • now find the file AUTORUN.inf on root and remove from all drives which are not open.
