I have a problem in logging in with my pc. I forgot my password and I’ve had a hard time on remembering it. What should I do about this? Is there any chance I could log-in?

Please help.

If you don't have "Windows XP password reset disk":

  • Start windows in safe mode ( keep taping F8 when windows starts).
  • Select "safe mode" and press "enter".
  • Now click "start" select "run".
  • Type "control userpasswords2".
  • Select account then click "reset password".
  • Type new password.

If you have "windows password reset disk":

  • On the windows logon screen, select the user name . press enter.
  • You will get message like "did you forget password" click "?" to see password hint or you can use password reset disk.
  • Click "password reset disk".
  • Insert disk into floppy drive "A" click "next".
  • Type new password in new password box "next" and "finish".

You can still reinstall windows to get access into pc.

Trick: you can install another copy of windows in another partition.

Good luck!

Dear Noel,

Thanks for sharing your problem with us.

Dear you have forgotten your password of your account.

It is very easy to reset your password.

First when you come on windows logon screen. And require password from you then you have to press some keys.

Press CTRL+ALT and press DEL twice. It will take you to the username dialog box.

Type "Administrator" in username and press enter.

It will logon into Administrator account. Now open control panel and go to user account. Choose your account and click on remove password.

It will remove your password.

Then log off again and log in via your account.

I hope it will help you.

If you forgot the password of your user account and you cannot log in to your computer, you can reset or delete the password using the default or built-in “Administrator” account. Unfortunately, this account was hidden automatically after you created your own admin account. To access this user account again, you can go to Safe Mode. Restart your computer then press F8 before the Windows logo appears.

In “Advanced Boot Options” screen, select “Safe Mode” then hit Enter. In the login screen, select the “Administrator” account to log in. Once you are logged in, click “Start”, “All Programs”, “Accessories” then “Command Prompt”. In the command prompt window, type without quotes “net user [username] [new password]” then hit Enter.

Replace “[username]” with your username or the user account you want to remove the password and “[new password]” with the new password you want to use or don’t enter a password to delete the existing password. If the target username contains a space, enclose the username with quotes like this:

  • net user “[user name]” [new password]

After this, restart the computer and boot normally. See if you can now log in to your account.
