Cannot install VMWare version 3 although VMWare 2 worked fine

I was using VMWare version 2 for mac and it worked just fine but I thought that VMWare version 3 would be faster and will have better memory manager. So, I uninstalled the previous version and purchased the upgraded version. But when I tried to install the upgrade it just fails saying that there were errors with the installation. I tried to look into the log file and messages in there are very confusing. I need to install this thing to continue my work which I do using Windows XP.

If the error message that appears while you are doing the installation is saying that there is an error with the installation, you might want to check for the VMWare version 3’s system requirements. It is possible that the cause of the error is an incompatible system. Know first the system specifications for the new version of VMWare so you will know if your current operating system can able to run this version of the application. If you downloaded version 3 from a different website and not from its official website, it is possible that the installer has been edited or is broken and can not really be installed on any computer.

If this is the case, download version 3 from VMWare’s official website or else you may just go back to the old version of the application since you don’t have any problem using it.
