I installed a free copy of Ashampoo Burning Studio 1.14.5 today. I can follow instructions very well, but for some reason I cannot get the software to do what it needs to do. I've researched about it and I found a few instructions for older versions. Where can I find the links to these instructions that I could use?

Hello,

I suggest choosing another utility. There are many. Some are very flawed and you may have to use several before you find one that works. You may also have to use different utilities for different media authoring and editing tasks.

Another option you may want to explore is using shell scripting or commands for the purpose of “burning.” It is often faster and more effective than using software. You did not state what OS you are using or what tools you have access to, so I recommend using a search engine to find media-authoring instructions specific to your OS and available shell. I must warn that you need to do proper research before utilizing shell scripts or commands if you are not familiar with them.

If you want to use Ashampoo Burning Studio to burn CDs, DVDs, or Blu-rays, first, make sure your computer meets the requirements. If you are not using the latest version, download the latest from Ashampoo Burning Studio Free. It supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. It requires 2 GB RAM and 250 MB free space.

Internet connection is also required when running the program for the first time to activate the product. See if this works. Also, make sure you have a supported optical drive. Different discs require compatible writers. If you have a CD writer, the drive can only burn and read CD and the other two disc types (DVD and Blu-ray) are not supported.

If you have a DVD writer, it can read and burn both CD and DVD but not Blu-ray. To burn all three disc types (CD, DVD, and Blu-ray), you need a Blu-ray writer but this one is not cheap. An alternative is a DVD writer/Blu-ray ROM which can read all three disc types but can only burn CD and DVD.

If the program still doesn’t work, try using ImgBurn instead.
